Nirvana Shatakam — Shivoham Shivoham
Nirvana Shatakam (Atma Shatakam) is a composition of Adi Shankaracharya. Its six shlokas explain that 'I' am not the body, mind or senses, but Shiva — pure consciousness and bliss.
Reciting it before or after meditation calms the mind.

Manobuddhyahankarachittani nahan
Na cha shrotrajihve na cha ghrananetre ।
Na cha vyom bhumirn tejo na vayuh
Chidanandarupah shivo'ham shivo'ham ॥
I am not the mind, intellect, ego or memory; not the ears, tongue, nose or eyes; not sky, earth, fire or air — I am Shiva, consciousness and bliss; I am Shiva.
Na cha pranasangyo na vai panchavayuh
Na va saptadhatuh na va panchakoshah ।
Na vakpanipadan na chopasthapayu
Chidanandarupah shivo'ham shivo'ham ॥
I am not the life-breath, nor the five vital airs, nor the seven tissues, nor the five sheaths; not speech, hands, feet or any organ of action — I am Shiva, consciousness and bliss.
Na me dweshragau na me lobhmohau
Mado naiv me naiv matsaryabhavah ।
Na dharmo na chartho na kamo na mokshah
Chidanandarupah shivo'ham shivo'ham ॥
In me there is no hatred or attachment, no greed or delusion, no pride or jealousy; I am not even dharma, artha, kama or moksha — I am Shiva, consciousness and bliss.
Na punyan na papan na saukhyan na duhkhan
Na mantro na tirthan na veda na yagyah ।
Ahan bhojanan naiv bhojyan na bhokta
Chidanandarupah shivo'ham shivo'ham ॥
I am neither merit nor sin, neither pleasure nor pain, neither mantra, pilgrimage, Veda nor yagya; neither the meal, nor the food, nor the eater — I am Shiva, consciousness and bliss.
Na me mrityushanka na me jatibhedah
Pita naiv me naiv mata na janma ।
Na bandhurn mitran gururnaiv shishyah
Chidanandarupah shivo'ham shivo'ham ॥
I have no fear of death, no distinction of caste; I have no father, no mother, no birth; no brother, no friend, no guru, no disciple — I am Shiva, consciousness and bliss.
Ahan nirvikalpo nirakarrupo
Vibhutvachch sarvatra sarvendriyanam ।
Na chasangatan naiv muktirn meyah
Chidanandarupah shivo'ham shivo'ham ॥
I am beyond all options and formless; all-pervading, I am in all the senses; I am neither bound nor liberated nor measurable — I am Shiva, consciousness and bliss.
The paath of Nirvana Shatakam is complete.
