Arti Shri Ramayan Ji Ki — lyrics and meaning

Arti shri ramayan ji ki ।
Kirti kalit lalit siy pi ki ॥

The aarti of Shri Ramayan ji, in which the beautiful glory of Shri Ram, husband of Sita, is sung.

Gavat brahmadik muni narad ।
Balmiki bigyan bisarad ॥
Shuk sanakadik shesh aru sharad ।
Barni pavansut kirti niki ॥

Brahma and others, Narad Muni, the wise Valmiki, Shukdev, the Sanakadi sages, Sheshnag and Saraswati sing it; Pawanputra Hanuman too described its beautiful glory.

Gavat bed puran ashtadas ।
Chhaon shastra sab granthan ko ras ॥
Muni jan dhan santan ko sarbas ।
Sar ansh sammat sab hi ki ॥

The Vedas and the eighteen Puranas sing it; it is the essence of the six shastras and all scriptures, the wealth of sages, the all-in-all of saints, and the essence of everything.

Gavat santat shanbhu bhavani ।
Aru ghatasanbhav muni bigyani ॥
Byas adi kabibarj bakhani ।
Kagabhushundi garur ke hi ki ॥

Shiv-Parvati, the wise sage Agastya, Vyas and other great poets sing it; Kakbhushundi narrated it to Garud.

Kalimal harni bishay ras phiki ।
Subhag singar mukti jubti ki ॥
Dalni rog bhav muri ami ki ।
Tat matu sab bidhi tulsi ki ॥

It removes the sins of Kaliyug and makes worldly pleasures lose their taste; it is the lovely adornment of the maiden Liberation; it is the nectar-herb that cures the disease of worldly life — and for Tulsidas it is mother and father in every way.
