Easy steps to book the ₹300 ticket
- Create an account on the TTD website with your mobile number, and be logged in and ready before booking opens.
- Choose ‘Special Entry Darshan’, pick the date and time slot, and fill in each pilgrim's name and ID (Aadhaar).
- Pay ₹300 per person and download the ticket. Carry the same original ID on the day of darshan.
- Beware of fake websites: many look-alike websites and WhatsApp numbers sell ‘VIP darshan’ or tickets in this temple's name. Book only through the official website or app given below, and never pay an agent in advance.
Important things before you go
- Dress code: men in dhoti-kurta or kurta-pyjama; women in saree, half-saree or churidar with dupatta. It is strictly enforced for ticketed and seva darshans.
- One laddu prasad is given free after every darshan; extra laddus can be bought at the counter.
- Mobiles and cameras are not allowed inside the temple; Tirumala has counters to deposit your belongings.
- Tonsure (hair offering) at Kalyanakatta is free.
How to reach
- Rail: Tirupati station; the Tirumala hill is about 22 km from there, with TTD and APSRTC buses running all the time.
- Air: Tirupati (Renigunta) airport, about 15 km from Tirupati city.
- On foot: the Alipiri route (about 3,550 steps) or the Srivari Mettu route (about 2,388 steps, the shorter way).
When is it less crowded
Saturdays and Sundays, Brahmotsavam, Vaikuntha Ekadashi and summer holidays are the most crowded. Weekdays, especially Tuesday and Wednesday, are relatively easier.
