How to get passes

  • Sugam darshan e-pass: free, with a fixed time slot — on online.srjbtkshetra.org. It cuts down the waiting time.
  • Aarti passes: free, limited in number, released on the trust's website a few days ahead.
  • Tatkal aarti passes: from the Yatri Suvidha Kendra opposite Birla Dharamshala on Ram Path, daily from 9 AM, on your Aadhaar card. Mangla and Shringar aarti passes are given a day before, Shayan aarti passes the same day. The trust changes this arrangement from time to time.
  • Even without a pass, darshan through the general queue is always available.
  • Everyone above 10 must carry the same government ID entered in the booking.
  • Beware of fake websites: many look-alike websites and WhatsApp numbers sell ‘VIP darshan’ or tickets in this temple's name. Book only through the official website or app given below, and never pay an agent in advance.

Important things before you go

  • Mobiles, smartwatches, cameras, bags, pens, food and water bottles are not allowed inside — there are free cloakrooms outside the parkota (outer wall).
  • Free wheelchairs are available at the entry gate; there is a separate queue for seniors above 60, the disabled and pregnant women.
  • By tradition, have darshan of Hanuman ji at Hanumangarhi first, and then of Ram Lalla.

How to reach

  • Rail: Ayodhya Dham Junction and Ayodhya Cantt station.
  • Air: Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya.
  • Road: about 135 km from Lucknow; direct buses from Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Varanasi.

When is it less crowded

Ram Navami, Diwali (Deepotsav), the anniversary of the pran pratishtha and long weekends are very crowded. Darshan is easiest in the 1 to 5 PM slots on weekdays.
