Mere to girdhar gopal, dusro na koi ।
Jake sir mor mukut, mero pati soi ॥
Mine is only Giridhar Gopal, no one else. He who wears the peacock crown is my husband.
Chhanri dayi kul ki kani, kaha karihai koi ।
Santan dhig baithi baithi, lok-laj khoyi ॥
I have stopped caring about family honour — what can anyone do now? Sitting again and again with the saints, I gave up public shame.
Ansuvan jal sinchi sinchi, prem-beli boyi ।
Ab ta beli phaili gayi, anand-phal hoyi ॥
Watering it again and again with my tears, I planted the creeper of love. Now that creeper has spread and fruits of bliss have begun to grow on it.
Dudh ki mathniya bare prem se biloyi ।
Dadhi mathi ghrit karhi liyo, dari dayi chhoyi ॥
Just as butter is churned out of curd with love and the buttermilk is left, so I took the essence of life (devotion) and left the rest.
Bhagat dekhi raji huyi, jagat dekhi royi ।
Dasi miran lal girdhar! taro ab mohi ॥
Seeing devotees I rejoice, and seeing the state of the world I weep. O Giridhar Lal, now save your servant Meera.
