Shendur Lal Charhayo — Ganesh aarti — lyrics and English meaning
'Shendur Lal Charhayo' is a Hindi (Dakhni) Ganpati aarti sung in Maharashtra, after 'Sukhakarta Dukhaharta'. The last verse names the composer 'Gosavinandan'.
On Ganesh Chaturthi and Wednesday — along with Sukhakarta Dukhaharta and Jai Ganesh Deva.

Shendur lal charhayo achchha gajamukhko ।
Dondil lal biraje sut gaurihrako ।
Hath lie guraladdu sani suravrako ।
Mahima kahe na jai lagat hun padko ॥
Lovely red sindoor has been offered to the elephant-faced Ganesh ji. Big-bellied, adorned in red, the son of Gauri and Shiva holds jaggery laddoos in his hand — the glory of that lord, best among the gods, cannot be told; I bow at his feet.
Jai dev jai dev, jai jai shri ganraj ।
Vidya sukhdata, dhanya tumharo darshan, mera man ramta ॥
O Dev, O Ganraj, victory to you! You are the giver of knowledge and happiness. Blessed is your darshan — my mind is absorbed in it. (Refrain — sung after every verse)
Ashtau siddhi dasi sanktako bairi ।
Vighnavinashan mangal murat adhikari ।
Koti suraj prakash aisi chhabi teri ।
Gandasthal madamastak jhule shashibihari ॥
The eight siddhis are your servants and you are the enemy of troubles. You are the destroyer of obstacles, the embodiment of auspiciousness and the lord of all. Your form shines like crores of suns; the moon adorns your forehead.
Bhav bhagat se koi sharanagat ave ।
Santti sanpti sabhi bharpur pave ।
Aise tum maharaj moko ati bhave ।
Gosavinandan nishidin gun gave ॥
Whoever comes to your shelter with feeling and devotion receives children, wealth — everything in plenty. O Maharaj, you are so dear to me; Gosavi-nandan (the composer) sings your virtues day and night.
Jai dev jai dev, jai jai shri ganraj ।
Vidya sukhdata, dhanya tumharo darshan, mera man ramta ॥
The aarti closes with the refrain — O Ganraj, victory to you.
Shendur Lal Charhayo — the paath of the Ganesh aarti is complete.
