Un jai kashyap nandan, prabhu jai aditi nandan ।
Tribhuvan timir nikandan, bhakt hriday chandan ॥

Victory to you, Surya Dev, son of Kashyap and Aditi; you remove the darkness of all three worlds and give the hearts of devotees a coolness like sandal.

Sapt ashvarath rajit, ek chakradhari ।
Duhkhhari, sukhkari, manas malhari ॥

You sit on a one-wheeled chariot drawn by seven horses; you remove sorrow, give happiness and wipe away the dirt of the mind.

Sur muni bhusur vandit, vimal vibhavshali ।
Agh dal dalan divakar, divya kiran mali ॥

Gods, sages and Brahmins bow to you; you are Diwakar, of pure splendour, destroyer of sins, wearing a garland of divine rays.

Sakal sukarm praswita, savita shubhkari ।
Vishva vilochan mochan, bhav bandhan bhari ॥

You are the auspicious Savita who gives birth to all good deeds, the eye of the universe, and you free us from the heavy bonds of the world.

Kamal samuh vikasak, nashak tray tapa ।
Sevat sahaj harat ati, mansij santapa ॥

You make the lotuses bloom and destroy the three kinds of suffering; serving you easily removes the heavy anguish of the mind.

Netra vyadhi har survar, bhu pira hari ।
Vrishti vimochan santat, parhit vratdhari ॥

O best of gods, you cure eye diseases, end the earth's suffering, bring rain and always keep the vow of doing good to others.

Suryadev karunakar, ab karuna kijai ।
Har agyan moh sab, tatvagyan dijai ॥

O Surya Dev, ocean of compassion, have mercy now; remove all ignorance and delusion and give the knowledge of truth.
